Car Wax

Zaino products are great, been using them for years!:thumb

Zaino works well, but I have recently converted to Adams.....I put on a coat of their Americana paste wax this past Saturday. It looks amazing.

I use the C-Magic products from the Museum. :thumb

Rejex - It's so slick, bugs and other crud just hose off. It also looks as good as anything I have used, but is easier to apply.

Meguiar's Polish

I use Meguiar's Gold Glass polish. Buffs off easily by hand and leaves a smooth deep shine and it lasts for ages. Great stuff!

yes that wax is good too!-to Tom please do something with those rusty rotors!:rotfl

ernest, I have fixed that issue. Took some caliper paint to them, That was certainly an eye sore. :L

I recently bought some Rejex, I have only put it on my DD Pickup so far, but it is nice too.

I've seen great results on other Corvettes whose owners are using Meguiar's NXT.

might have to try that -Hib-all others are good too, i have used them all. Note to Tom -thanks:happyanim:

I have a question for the waxes and polishes posted above ..

How many have a chemical or some kind of reaction to make them work and how many have silicone. Last question how many effect touch up painting??

Just ask'n :D

Bud, I posted this question on Adams forum, here's the answer I got.

Waxes don't have a "chemical reaction", but they do cure (harden) so they can protect the surface. Sealants are much the same way, but being in the polymer family they can be technically classified as silicones. Just b/c a product contains a polymer or silicone doesn't mean its bad for paint, but in a painting environment you don't want airborn particles of it during the painting process.

Another person had this to say...
You'll always going to want to remove any sealants or waxes before using any kind of paint. I used ISPA and a MF towel to prep my areas. I used Dr. Color Chip repair kit, it worked great, just use something that would strip the wax off the area you're repairing.

I hope that this answers some of your questions.

Thanks Tom :thumb

I've heard different over the years ;shrug I agree about taking the necessary precautionary steps before painting to have a successful paint job...

I remember a wax/polish ?? out back in the 70's that was revolutionary, at that time... It was called "Super Gloss" and man it was easy to use and shine was amazing, it was one of the first ones out with polymer's in it. After waxing and leaving in the sun for a couple hours, go over it again with a fresh towel and the shinned got even deeper..

I've kind of gott'n stuck on Klasse products, lately I've been using ICE and it seems to work pretty good too ...

Thanks Tom :thumb
