Question: Cardboard between condensor & Rad?

97 C5 new to me. During first time service I found a piece of cardboard approx 12x18 covered with black tape wedged between condensor and radiator. For what purpose would this be done. Seems it would cause car to overheat. To my knowledge, this car has never been in "cold country".
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Steve

Possibly someone was working in the area, it was there for protection (or a template, CAI?), and they forgot to remove it.

That should'nt be in there, with cardboard blocking the radiator it should overheat FAST.
TAKE IT OUT and every once in awhile look in that same spot and make sure its clean, it should run around 185-210.

I have found more crap up there :mad
I clean it out about every 6 months and at least check it every oil change
