Just picked up my TT (at last!!!) from my mechanic with a new Centerforce dual friction clutch and BMW M5 (10w60 synthetic) oil in the transmission. Opinions seem to vary as to whether to change the gearbox oil but I think it's good cheap insurance when you have a box like the ZF.

Definitely recommended folks, the clutch action is lighter than I expected and the gearchange is mega smooth and positive. Got to take it easy for quite a few miles before I can really hit it though!

By the way ages ago I disconnected the 1-4 solenoid in the transmission and plugged it with a CAGS plug. That REALLY drove me mad as I often drive my TT pretty sedately (I like to know I have the power without necessarily using it). An easier way to disable that stupid CAGS idea would be just to disconnect the solenoid by the battery.

Just my 2c worth. All the best, Malc.

Sounds great Malc...I love the Centerforce clutch in my 88.
