I don't want to sound like a smartass or anything but I think the thing that makes ANY car go fast (or not!) is, primarily, the driving ability of the driver!
Personally I would get hooked up with a few courses which offer performance training in MY car .... once I get the skills to where I am using all available horsepower to its best advantage I would start looking for horsepower increases, if I really felt (at that point) they are gonna be necessary.
Additional advantage of going this route .... the "purchased performance" goes with ME from car to car .... instead of having to be "re-acquired" with, and installed on every new car I get.
I'd make what I already have perform to its max first.
