For 1963 to 1965 Corvettes, Chevrolet published a 1963 Factory Shop Manual and supplements for 1964 and 1965. These manuals contained limited overhaul procedures for components like the differentials and steering gears.
Beginning in 1966, Chevrolet divided the manuals into a Chassis Overhaul Manual (COM) and a Chassis Service Manual (CSM). The CSM describes on vehicle service and repair procedures and the COM details specific component overhaul procedures.
Sometime in the early 1970's Chevrolet discontinued the COM and went back to the CSM only format, eliminating many of the specific overhaul procedures.
What year did Chevrolet discontinue the COM as a publication ? Do later manuals have any specific component overhaul procedures like the COM contained? The 78 manual does not have these procedures.
