HAS ANYONE INSTALLED A COLD AIR INTAKE ON THEIR LT1 AND DID YOU NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCE? ALSO WHICH BRAND IS THE BEST?

I picked up a tenth just taking the plastic piece off, and cutting open the rest of the lid.

Cost was nothing, and since I cut inside the rivet holes, I can still put the plastic thing back on if I want/need to.

I have thought about the cold air induction though.

cold-air induction

Hi Joep,I have a 1992 LT1 and I have installed a cold-air induction on my vette. It is from FORCED-AIR.I installed it along with other mods at the same time so I can't really tell you accurately what the difference is.What I can say is that it feels crispier and not as lazy on really hot days. The temperature is lower also. When you pop open the hood you can hear a siffoning sound. I had it installed by a professional(matched the paint for the diffuser) and let me tell you that most people see it and do a double-take.It has a certain effect,it kinda makes people wonder....lol.

I have the SLP claw, which has 3 K/N filters.
I drag raced it before and after, I'd say it added .05 sec.

Be warned that if you try the vortex rammer, which involves
cutting the Fan Shroud, that you could conceivably suck
water into the engine if you hit a deep puddle or maybe
drive thru a torrent of rain. I picked the SLP because I wanted
the absolute max. gain and no chance of water ingestion.

cold air intake on LT1

Thanks for information guys. I wil have to decide on the forced- air or the claw.
The vortex is out of the question simply because you have to modify the housing.
Topless I have already modified the aircleaner housing and did notice a little difference. Thanks again.
