computer location

could someone tell me where my main computer is if i wanted to put one of those chips in i thought it was in the back down by the tub of the spare tire but i am not sure any help would be appriciated i have an 89 conv

Rich,
The prom for 84-89 is under the gauge cluster. It's behind the trim panel under the right side of the dash. The prom is in the ecm (big silver box). If you've never swapped a prom before, take your time and follow the instructions. I was impatient with the one in my Z24 and damaged it during the install - now that will ruin your day.

thanks so much for the quick reply. I will take my time i don't want to mess it up. Hey for all those interested i took 1st place at at the Patterson Car Show in NY last weekend for best custom corvette. I love this site everyone sticks together and is so much help. Thanks again
