I have a 94 LT1 with a standard Cassette Player Radio. My left front speaker is real weak. I also have a GM Factory Service Manual. It centers heavily on the Bose Radio/Amplifier while barely touching on the standard radio.

Since the manual only discusses the Bose Amp, should I assume the standard radio/casette doesn't have an amplifier.

If I look in the compartment behind the drivers seat I see what could be an Amplifier but it doesn't seem to be identified.

When I look at the manual in reference to the amp, it says and I quote:
"1. Open right rear storage compartment door."
"2. Tray."
"3. Pull firmly on receiver to seperate hook and loop fastener."

I say, what the ----?
I need some help, please.
Sam

it's called the radio receiver box. the audio outputs are amplified and sent to the speakers.

get another speaker and hook it up to test.

The reciever your talking about is an aluminium case with heat sinks on it. If I recall it is velcro'd to the ..... right side of the comapartment.

Dont yank it out.Gently remove it.

many wires are attached and the connectors are fragile

I would check those connectors for issues before I removed the speakers..

Try swapping the speakers left to right to test if the connectors are not the issue.

Make SURE its dry in the compartment as well

Thank You All. It turns out it was the 10 Way Left Front Speaker. Since they are discontinued it took awhile but I found one.
