Hey gang... stuck on something and everyone is closed right now.

Have any of you ever connected a PowerMaster XS Torque starter to your current wire harness? The issue is that a 68 Corvette is set up for a 3-wire solenoid, and the PowerMaster XS Torch is a 2-wire. Anyone know the resolution? btw... I'm using a Mallory Unilite (point) distributor

Thanks!

Powermaster P/N 601 is a complete solenoid with switch and cap that has the extra terminal you're looking for. Surely there're more than a few starter-alternator rebuilders near you ... take your starter to them ... probably get the part you need right there. Look in phone book under auto repairs-services / auto electric services or ask around for who rebuilds starters in-house ... there'll be some.

Actually, I ended up calling PowerMaster today, and they told me I needed an "R" Terminal kit. Basically its a diode that prevents the solenoid from being charged all the time rather than just at cranking. $24 learning lesson.

Thanks anyway Jack
