I was in a Car Show today with 170 cars. Only 3 C3's, 3 C1's, 1 C4 and 2 C2's and this one. A modern C1 mix. The only vette to get a trophy. I was passed over by everyone except the kids. Unless you have a unique custom standout ride no one looks...;squint:

You have a beautiful vette. I'd love to have one like yours to go with mine.:thumb

I agree your vette is a beautiful one. What kind of show was this?

I am hoping to make it to my first show this weekend (how many times have I said that since May?!) in Manchester. It looks like a fun event:

These are just local car club shows. My neighbor and I went together to this one. he has a totally redone 57 Chevy. We didn't win anything at all but it was fun hanging out, making new friends and eating good food. A lot of car talk! The next two Saturdays we are going to some local car shows.

There was one of those conversions at the last show I went to, too. It won a couple awards. There was also an NCRS Top Flight '54 there too (which they drove to and from the show :D). The '54 won best of show.

I agree with what you are saying though. Unless you have an old 'Vette or a totally custom one, your not going to get any attention at car shows.

BTW, your shark looks pretty good. Definately better than my old '78.

I get the same thing.Adults will come by and point out everything that is wrong with my car,but kids just love it.I always let them sit in the drivers seat.It makes their day(and mine too). Its never to early to get the next generation interested in our Sharks.

Funny you should mention that. I found that the kids really love the vette but most adults will just walk on by. I let the kids sit in my vette to. Most fun I have all day. Good to know it just isn't me or my vette though with people not so interested at shows.

Vette79 you car looks great, I was in my first show last Saturday and took second, of course there were only 2 C-3's in the show so I am not going to tell you what that really means. I am just going to show off that second place thropy.;LOL

Ah, it's all good. Glad you won a trophy for the rest of us...lol. I hope to have two vette's in my garage someday like some of you...:thumb

That's one of the problems with our vettes, as far as showing them. It's hard to show what's under the hood without destroying the beautiful lines of the C3.

My engine bay ain't bad. It looks better than stock by a long shot, but to have my hood open kills the look of my car. Especially with my fade, the styling just loses a lot.
I've been thinking about making a 12" prop rod. Then I can still have the hood down somewhat, but people can still come around and look underneath if they way.

I think the C4's have it even worse...

Kit-Vettes

This is a similar c-4 conversion that I was investigating last year. Basicly you give them a Donor Car and For an additional $50 -100,000. they will build you an awesum Retro-Rod . check it out!http://www.crcoachworks.com/index.phtml

WOW, I like that one to. If I ever had the money to spend I would do something like this. Very unique and different.

I looked for a specific price on their website but nothing. Sure would like to know. Sold my 62 and would love to have one of those plopped on my 99.

Lks like you have to call them for any basic pricing, but knowing all the options would make it easier to order and get pricing.
