Question: Customizing hood and trunk liner

I recently bought a Jetstream Blue C6 convertible. I was thinking about customizing a hood and trunk liner with a design and was wondering if anyone else had done this.

If so, I'm wondering what medium you used - paint? Is, what kind? If not, what did you use?
