I haven't tried the dash cap, but I did get a full replacement dash from Corvette America. It worked out well. Install is a bit of work through.

I looked into a dashcap when I redid the interior on our vette. I heard issues of bad fitment and it lifting after time so I ended up getting a new dash as part of the rebuild and couldn't be happier. I got mine through Willcox.

I think dash caps are for the people who don't want to spend the $ for a quality replacement. I had a cap on my 76 when I got it and it was junk, the sun warped it. I bought a NOS dash and it looks good. This Kind of reminds me the the shift console/door regulator repair kits that simply patch a problem for a short amount of time.
