My girlfriend found a '96 LT4 that she wanted to buy, so Sunday I drove her down to Albuquerque to get it. She also has a '65, but she wanted the '96 to autocross, and something to drive more frequently than the '65. What a great drive back to Denver. Weather was perfect, light traffic, and no construction! We got the drive-out permit from NM DMV Monday morning and left for Denver. Driving through New Mexico it was hard to keep the accelerator off the floor, but I could imagine me at 160 and a state trooper coming at me. There were stretches where we didn't overtake anyone for 25-30 miles. I did get hers up to 120 once, and it was smooth and stable. While I was driving her car it was fun to see mine ('04 coupe) on the road, actually moving. We had a lot of fun exchanging positions and being able to see our own car from different angles...she would lead, then I would be in front. How often do you get to see your own car moving? I don't mind saying that the Corvette experience is fabulous. We both love the cars and the people we meet because of them.
