just when i think i get my engine running pretty well, murphy smacks me in the face. my driver side outside door handle breaks. fortunatly the top was down. i pull the door panel off and inside the door i find a small half loop of metal, a spring and a pin. about 30 mins later the door latch itself is off (rear nut pita but you guys already know that). the door handle itself had broken and the part that actually attaches to the rod had came out. i keep reading here about replacing it but id love to see some good pictures other than my AIM. my AIM doesnt show that clip that holds the rod onto the handle and i really dont want to pull the other door panel if i dont have to.

thanks

Damn, that sucks. I had to take apart my drivers side door to fix the cylinder and OEM Factory Alarm. Wish I would of taken pictures. Sorry. Someone else will chime in...

Any one of these do it for you?

thats exactly what i needed. looks like i orderd all the parts i need. lets hope they look like your pics when i get them installed.

(on a lighter note though the car is finally cranking, running, and idling smoothly now)

that was actually a lot easier than i thought it would be.
granted tight space. some skin loss of the tops of my knuckles but other than that the tips on this forum(like unscrewing the three latch bolts) helped out a lot.

using an extendable magnet and ratcheting open end wrenches even allowed me to get the back nut on. the only read difficult part was the part that holds the rod to the latch. that clip could have been designed a lot better.
