On the 82 the door has a pin with a torx recess and is located on the pillar opening adjacent the side of the seat on the door sill It is adjustable to facilitate door gap on the rear of the door, to align the body and door seam. If I loosen this stud/pin will it spin on the interior of the body sill? Can I loosen it, slide it slightly and re-tighten with out having to hold the female threaded side/sill ? I need to move it inward about 1/8th or so to align the body faces at the seam. But I don't know if the threaded part will spin and not allow me to tighten it back up sufficiently.

The inside has a boxed nut so you can loosen the hex bolt en retighten is 1/8" inward. But as the box is a little large for the nut the nut will spin al little ofsetting the bolt the wrong way. I think the best way to do it is to first make the place with some blue tape then somebody on the inside can hold the nut inside the box (if you can get to it?) and then you can move it much easier.
With some patience it can also be done by one person! :)

Greetings Peter
