I have just purchased a 2006 convertible (White with Ebony interior) which I understand still has some factory warranty remaining. (My first Vette).

The car is nice all over with the exception of the driver’s seat cushion, outer side where the previous owner obviously did not ease themselves over this area & just flattened it down.

Question ~ would this be covered under the GM warranty?
If not, what is the best approach to getting this a new life? Can I purchase the cushion foam material & have an upholster install to correct the issue? Anybody have any suggestions ?

Love the site, some very interesting & informative topics. Thanks…Ian

HI there,
It should be under the factory warranty.
Make sure they inspect everything prior to ordering.
I have seen the side bolster wings break underneath with excessive usage.

C4C5 ~ Thanks for the insight, knowledge is power & with all the info available on this site…just simply wow.
Many thanks. Ian

I got my bolster fixed under warrantee. The dealership sent me to an upholsterer that does work for them.

The bolster is made of cheap vinyl and the padding underneath is inadaquate. Don't blame the previous owner, it could happen to anyone's Corvette.

:)

Many thanks, planning on going to see the dealer this week. I will advise the outcome soon i hope.
Again, this forum is SO good & helpful, it's going to make the Vette ownership so much more enjoyable.
Take care...Later.......Ian (The Crazy Brit)
