Can someone tell me where the ECM in a 84 vette is, because the chiltons manuel doesnt tell where it is very clear so a clear placement would be helpful. thanks

On an 84 the ECM is behind the dash on the passenger side. Pull the kick panel out. Get a 1/4in drive ratchet with 4-6in extension and i think it is a 10mm socket. Now the fun part...
Get on the passenger seat upside down with a small light. You'll see the bracket and the 2 nuts and a big fat connector. The computer module is installed perpendicular to the floor. So you'll only see a small part of it. Pop the cable. Loosen the 2 bolts and pull it straight down. That's it. 30 min tops to get it out.
