Electric door lock

My doorlock button (not slide), had broken.

Do I now need an actuator? A new button with whatever is suppose to make it work already attached or what?

I need to know what exactly to order part-wise. I'm reluctant to take the door assembly apart to take a peek at things and my Haynes manual seems a bit vague.

Any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated.

you can find new covers for the button on ebay...or at a salvage yard. I got 2 new ones off of a buick...for .50

Hi Vee93,If you'd like I will send you picture from the Service manual on how this switch is connected but it really is easy to undo -just take all the screws off your inside door panel and carefully lift the panel up out of the window channel.Look up from the bottom and you should see the switch. It is connected to the accessory bezel with one screw and a plug (electrical connection)-hope this helps Dennis

Do both doors Lock & Unlock

from the passenger side switches?

If so your door lock solenoid is fine ( drivers side ) and you just need to replace the switch on the drivers door.

I'm gonna bite the bullet and order a door button/switch and have a go at it myself.
