Geezz all that work to get back to where you started.

My recommendation is to get the proper wattage fog light bulbs and see what happens.

The circuit design is strange because the fog lamp bulb uses the Highbeam filament for its ground path.

The light circuit also turns off the Fog Lamp bulbs when the High beams are on by placing 12 volts on each side of the fog lamp bulbs.

If you do install a seperate ground for the Fog Lamps, you loose the ability of them being turned off when the high beams are on.

I may still have the original foglamps. Ok here's what we have:

With foglights off:

Low beams...........check

high beams.........check

with foglights on

Low beams........ very slight dimming in headlight and foglights.

high beams......foglights turn off as they're supposed to.

This however does explain why my high beams never seemed to be as bright as they used to.....WRONG CONNECTIONS!!!:duh

For now I'm leaving well enough alone. I'll try the original foglights tomorrow....:)

Thanks guys............I can sleep now...

Give your fog lights their own ground and your problems gould be gone.

I may try this route. Nothing wrong with too much light when you're surrounded by pickup trucks....:)

Overwatt bulbs can cause problems. If the bulbs are over 50w you might want to install a set of relays. Relays are the only way to overwatt headlights that use H4 bulbs. The stock setup runs all the current for the lights through the switch.

That's the reason I switched to the Sylvania bulbs. :) I got sidetracked installing switches for my underhood lights so I'll check the foglamps this weekend.

Thanks again to all..:w
