Emblem removable from the rear lift window panel of the C5. I wanted to remove the rear emblem because it's a pain to remove water from and to keep the painted back ground looking good.

To remove, heat the emblem to between 90-100 degrees F. with a heat gun (page 8-854, Vol 3 from the service manual) and peel the emblem from the panel. The soft rubber like adhesive remaining on the panel can be rubbed off with your hand and then the dull area cleaned up with polish. The front emblem has two locator holes in the fascia panel so removing it presents another problem.

I removed both emblems from both my c5's. Great improvement. Take off the front and get the holes filled at the body shop, looks awsome.

I like the nice smooth look, but I find the emblem a handy spot to place my hand when closing the rear hatch. The seals on the car are so good that if the roof is on and windows closed, not evening slamming the rear hatch will close it. I find that just gently dropping it down, it will catch the first latch, then a simply push straight down on the emblem will secure the side latches. Keeps finger prints off of the rear hatch, and lessens the chance of scratching the hatch. :D
