While going through my Callaway archives, I came upon an rather interesting issue of Turbo & High Tech Performance Magazine from the mid-90's

WIthin the issue, I found an article on the elusive and blistering quick 1989-005 Callaway B2K (The first production Aero car) and the related automatic trans conversion. I scanned it in for your reading pleasure, as I thought it was very intreresting :cool

Also in the issue (which I could scan if folks wanted) is an interesting multi-page comparison of a "then - new" Callaway C8 Camaro vs. a Turbo Shop 383 single turbo Z28. Tha magazine seemed pleased w/ the C8 and its naturally aspirated power and the issue as a whole, should be in every Callaway Enthusiasts collection :cool

I scanned the cover of the issue as well - you may find them at swap meets, etc.

Enjoy! :m

Chris, Does Callaway still offer this conversion?

Chris I think the blue 89 here in FL was the first to wear Aerobody. The documentation for the car had a letter from Callaway stating that.

Car 89 005 was the first to have an Aerobody (Prototype) There were changes made afterward to the style we now have.

Anyone have pics they can share of 89-005? That would be interesting! Please share :)

Here is one fo the earlier threads on the car, 1989-005

It was on the cover of dozens of magazines in the early/mid 1989 model year, showcasing the new Callaway Aerobody :cool

Callaway 1989-005 revisited

I think there were a few more threads about the subject with the most famous picture of the car, beside the Saleen SSC on the May 89 Car& Driver cover :cool

I hope this helps :m
