No matter how hard I try I keep scraping the front air dam, what about taking the thing off,:confused any problems, air flow etc.

You'll notice a drastic increase in your operating temperature of you do that. That air dam is designed specifically to "scoop" air into the radiator to keep the engine cool. Without it the air just flows under and over the car. I would advise against removing it. ;)

T's99,
The video that came with my Z06 specifically recommended against removing it. I agree with Chevyaddict- it has a pretty important function. I know that scraping noise is awful to hear, but removing the air dam is not a good idea.

Do not remove it...your car will overheat...they run hot enough as it is... Vettes are bottom feeders and need the air scooped by the air dam...:beer

Hi To All,
Ok, I understand don't remove the front air dam. But, what if the fog lamp area is opened can something be put in to direct the air past the radiator and also into the engine. Just wondering.

Has your front end been lowered? Mine will scrape occasionally, when ever possible I try to cross low spots diagonally. An abundance of engineering went into designing air flows, wind drag, and etc on your C5. I would have to say that any modification would likely not yield positive results. Just my .02 worth.

Don't remove it. It flexes and was designed with scraping in mind. If it gets too ratty looking it can be replaced for about $50. My car is lowered with front bushings cut all the way and I scrape something or other almost every day with no ill effects. I know it sounds like hell when you scrape but that's the price you pay for a low car.

Warren, love your site! Good to see another great looking 99:D

Mine is completely gone. Where is a source for a replacement?

Thanks
