I have decided to replace the front end on the 65 coupe that I am working on. I would appreciate any input on the 1 piece fronts and the jig assembled PM front ends. This will be a custom showcar so originality is not a consideration. What is important is the fit and finish. A one piece is appealing since they are cheaper and the lack of bonding strips makes for a cleaner underside. How much work is it though to smooth out the hand laid fiberglass? Also who makes the best 1 piece and PM fronts? Appreciate your time.

Thanks!

Others may disagree, but every one piece front end I've ever seen fits like "boots on a rooster". They're cheap for a reason, and require a lot of work to get them to fit. The "worst" areas seem to be the areas where the hood hinges mount. You see a lot of modified hinges to shorten the "hood throw". Personally, I'd "spring" for the real deal. Chuck
