ALL SOLD..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

SOLD....NOS AM/FM power antenna. Correct Corvette upper mount.
I did replace the nylon cable that raises and lowers it as a precaution as it's like 30 years old!
$*** plus shipping.
Will consider tradeins! But no junk.

SOLD.......
Was going through my box-O-parts and realized I had everything to put together another complete antenna!
EVERYTHING was completely disassembled, cleaned, lubed and every part is excellent condition. The antenna looks and runs like NEW, but I do consider it used.
The only slight neg is the largest mast section chrome is a little dull, but that shouldn't matter as the mast should stay oiled.
SOLD Upper bracket WILL be installed. Don't be concerned with no connector, most installations require it be cut off and the wires spliced anyway.

SOLD....
ALSO, I have another trade in used original Pace Car antenna. Part no/date correct, 5044911-34/78(for a March build date). Out of a 10K mile Vette.
Cleaned, lubed, and nylon cable replaced. Mint condition mast, overall shows very nicely.
SOLD the last one like this that I came across I sold on ebay for $305! Love those numbers! I'll probably list it on ebay shortly, but thought I'd offer it here first.

Please Help!!!

I am looking for an AC Delco AM/FM/CB power antenna for my Fathers 1978 Silver Anniversary Corvette. I am aware that they have discontinued the model that I am looking for. However, this is the internet! I am praying for a miracle. I would like to purchase it for his Christmas gift. He is a man that has everything and is SOOOOO hard to shop for. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!:)

Does he have the original that just doesn't work? I can fix it for you, parts and shipping is all I charge for.

I believe he still has the original part. I received an email response via my cell phone that was a bit longer than the one posted from you. Question - Why do you think he would say "thanks" and not really mean it? I know he has been looking for the part for some time. I'm POSITIVE that he would appreciate it. What would the cost be for you to fix it?

I originally posted thinking you wanted to buy my AM/FM antenna for him but then reread your post.
Was just implying he'd probably not want a non CB antenna.

If it's just a matter of not going up and down the nylon repair cable is $30, return shipping usually about $10. Assuming that's all it needs. If the mast is bent or the load coil is cracked I probably can't help. CB antenna parts are hard to find.
The CB repair cables are hard to find too but I got a few of them.

Ok ~ Next question - how long does it take to repair? Could I have it back before Christmas if I can talk him into giving it to me by the middle of this upcoming week? I will not be able to get ahold of him until tomorrow sometime. They went to the Pittsburgh game (We live in Oh) and are hanging there for the night....

When I get them like this I usually get it fixed the day I receive it and back out in the next days mail. Send me a check when you have it back. USPS priority mail is the best for shipping.
Again, I can make it work but I'm limited in how good I can make it look due to parts availability! I do clean it up nicely, tho.
Hopefully it's in good shape cosmetically.
PM or email me for my shipping info.

Ok - I have the email. I will get ahold of him tomorrow and see what the deal is with it. When fixing it - you will make the CB operational again? It's only the antennan that is the issue. I believe it's just not going up and down - but again I will find out the details and let you know as soon as I get ahold of him. Would you like me to contact you on this thread or by your email? (My email address has this screen name in it - Crystaldream1976)

Either way, but my email is probably easier.

I can make your CB ANTENNA operational again. Can't guarantee a 30 year old radio will still be good! They were pretty low tech!

Do you know the condition of dad's Vette? Low mileage? Original?

Make sure any antenna you send me is SIMILAR to the one I have pictured above. Hate to have you send out some aftermarket thing that some past owner may have installed.

My Dad is the original owner. The vette has low miles ~ I think below 15K. He stores it in the winter. However - I spoke to him today and he no longer has the part. I guess someone broke the antenna and for a temporary fix he bought an AM/FM power antenna. I would still like to find an AC Delco AM/FM/ with CB Modulator power antenna....Any ideas where to do that? :) I know he said that there is only one cable from the antenna to the radio that handled all the functions - radio and CB. Help! Lol

I'll keep an eye open for a CB unit, but they're rare!
True, the CB antenna just gets one cable from the radio, but there's a second coil rolled up and taped to the mast tube on the CB antenna. Plus the load coil.
Good luck!
I'm going to ask another guy I know if he has one in his STOCKPILE of antenna stuff. He's got everything packed away til the market improves. If he does have one he'll want top dollar for it, tho.

Crystaldream, I got a lead on a original style AM/FM/CB antenna. This other guy IS in this to make money so no idea what he'd charge. And I'm kinda talking him into doing this. He's sitting on all his stuff til the market improves.
Email me your real name and email address, I'll pass it on to the other antenna guy.

He's wondering what all you need. Brackets? Bezel? Co-ax 'loop'? Are numbers/date important?
Is your father's current antenna like what I have pictured above or a GM service replacement or aftermarket?
Is there a chrome bezel on the fender or a black plastic one?

:happyanim: Yeah! Lol ~ I'm not sure about all the detailed parts that you mentioned. I will get ahold of my Dad tomorrow and find out. Thank you soooo much! I will email you at the address you gave me with my contact info. Could you please try to figure out a ballpark figure from the other guy and just email it to me? Thanks again!:happyanim:

1978 Original antenna

Hi,

I have an original PW antenna w/o CB. I have replaced the mast and now the antenna works in reverse. Turn the radio on and the antenna goes down. Turn the radio off and the antenna goes up. I have reassembled the antenna a few times and all looks correct. I have ordered a relay but if that does not fix it I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow, you really did take it apart.
Looks like you removed the two wires that go to the brushes that the armature spins on(under the round housing).
Did you put them back on the same way?
Switch them.
