i am in the middle of putting a newer fuel sending unit in my 1986 vette, my old one was rusted out so bad it was all deformed. i was wondering if i should use some kind of in a tube sealant along with the new rubber sending unit gasket, and around the bolts. also the new wires that came with the new fuel pump i had to splice the new black ground wire, should i get a special connector that will be o.k. in gasoline? dose permatex sell a sealent that lasts in gasoline?

should i find a better electical connector for the ground wire that well not get messed up with the gasoline around it? the connector i have on there now has a blue plastic cover and i am thinking its going to get ate up by the gasoline. theres alot of bare connections on those wires in side the tank so i guess if i just take the plastic cover off it will be fine. any ideas would be helpful!

well i got the new fuel pump in the from the used AZ vette fuel sending unit and all back in my vette. put 5 gallons of gas in, turned key once to psi system and then she started right up! and i never did a fuel pressure test with the old fuel system but this new fuel pump is makeing her run even better! cool!!
