93 Octane is what they call for...91 Octane seems to do fine if that's the best that's sold in your area. (My 91 L98 does great on 91)
Other Vetters will chime in very soon, no doubt.

Congratulations on your 94, last year for the reverse lockout if you have the manual.

I have run Sunoco, 94 octane in all my C4 corvettes. Maybe it’s overkill, but I have never had a fuel problem in 11 years of C4ing it!

Had an ‘86, a ‘93, a ‘94 and now a ‘96.

We've always run regular and never had a problem. I mean we do NOT have high compression engines (10:1 over) and we do NOT run turbos or superchargers so really whats the point.

About every 5 tanks I'll use premium to wash out the injectors but thats about it.

No DOHC No Turbo No Superchargers/Turbos No NOS Just a Pushrod V8 from good ol Chevy.

I believe my 93 calls for premium 93 oct. "Premium Fuel Only" is clearly marked. Or is that the benz? Higher oct is normal for higher compression engines.

;stupid

My 94 has a label under the filler door that says to use premium only. I think premium is 91 or higher?

I have been tempted to try a lower octane especially with premium nearing $2.00/gallon :mad

Why don't we just nuke Iraq and take the dam oil and be done with it :r

These cars are designed for premium fuel. Use whatever the premium fuel in your area is. Run cheaper fuel at your own risk.

The computer will run less advance to try to compensate for cheaper fuel. So it won't normally make the car ping, backfire, or otherwise show obvious signs of trouble.

Note that premium fuel is also generally better in other aspects besides octane rating as well. They usually employ higher quality cleaners and other agents, for instance.

Be careful where you buy your fuel from, too. Some cheap gas stations have very poor quailty tanks which take on water and crud. I've been the victim of such a station once. Now I'm more careful.

On the other hand, don't worry about the specific octane rating of the premium fuel in your area. And don't worry about boosting the octane beyond that rating. Going higher than what the engine is designed for is useless. It won't hurt it. But it won't help it either.
