"GD" Wiper door and Linkage

he gave me the GM manual for all the 1968 vehicles. It`s pretty thick. It`s down at the warehouse with the Vette. I know, i`ll bring it home tomorrow and we could compare. And if everything goes good tomorrow I may not need anything from a book. But, does it cover the fiber optics too? :upthumbs

Actually,I don't see anything on the Fiber Optics in it!! I've got a couple newer manuals 69,70,71,72 Stashed somewhere I'll see if I can dig them out and see if they have anything in them!!:upthumbs

I have the rack completely workable and free. I`m going to try to install it with the wiper door attached as this is obviously the way it was originally put together. I had people around at different times and when I was ready to put it back in everyone had left. I saw it was a two man installation to wiggle it back in or risk a possible damaged paint screw up. :upthumbs

I got it in! One man deal with padding on the fenders and covering all the exposed safari yellow paint. :D The only things left is to put the vacuum can back in and reattach the squirters. Oh yes, And I did install it with the wiper door attached. It turned out to be not as bad as it seemed at the time I started. But there was adequate people on the forum that contributed to make the issue go away for me. And another plus is no chips or scratches in that new yellow paint.

now all we need is pictures of your Vette. :upthumbs

....................turn the volume up to hear the 88 roar.........:upthumbs

Heres where it has been stored all this time without its engine and trans. There were parts everywhere. On shelves mixed with our parts inventory and just laying around. That part killed the radiator as it had a big section damaged facilitating a new core. I found the TI distributor and coil in other areas. trans, driveshafy and flywheel. Parts everywhere. We did replace the interior with a new leather set Al made for me.along with his carpet and door panels. I was very lucky in that over that period of time all I lost was a metal bracket for the 4 speed at the crossmember. It had those nose bumps which we repaired before block sanding everything to straighten the body out and then re-painted it the same Safarii Yellow it came with. I put its completely refreshed and blue printed L88 engine back in just before last winter and nearly everything worked except the wiper door.
