First, my LT4 has been throwing a code. I disconnected the a battery and reset it. Actually I've been doing that about every 100 miles or so. Well I finally decided to take it in. They hooked it up and come to find out it was saying there was a problem with the secondary air pump. They reset the computer and tried to get it to fail. It would'nt. I picked it up and with it 30 miles it came on again. The dealership told me if it did it again, bring it back and they would replace the pump. The pump alone is $250. Is ther anyway to bypass the pump so it does not throw a code? Can it be taken out of the system? Does it effect the car, ie engine perfomance?

The next question is a stupid one i know, but how do you know when your shocks are going out on the C4s? How are they to replace?

Due to the software in the computer it will keep tripping the code whether the pump is left in the car or not. It's a $35k car is $250 took much to take on it? It's a nice car why not keep it to spec?

If they 'leak hydraulic fluid' they should be replaced and if it's 'select ride' they can break actuator gears on the shocks and on the actuators themselves (these will trip a code if you have select ride) lots of $$$ to replace these.

Excessively bouncy ride.
