How can I determine if it is actually "working"? I spliced into the 12v hot with the key on. What is the best way to make sure it is working?

Voltage output of the sensor is 100mv lean and swings all the way to 900mv rich. You have to find the wire that goes to the computer and reference ground. I use autotap and a notebook on an ODB2 vehicle and look at what the sensor or sensors are doing on a O-scope type graph. (most accurate).

pull it out and put your tongue on it

Thats funny... That thing gets like what 600 degrees or so doesn't it? All I want to make sure is the heated part. I don't know what I can put on there to check the sensor to see if it is heated. I spliced it into the 12v hot wiper motor for when the key is in the "ON" position. So if I just turn the key to on it should start to heat up correct?

That was pretty funny.....wrong.....it's heated by the exhaust.

No, I have a heated O2 sensor due to the fact I am running coated headers.

Mic how long is this thing take to heat up? I pulled it out and turned the key on and it was a good 3-5 minutes before it got "hot" enough to where I couldn't hold it anymore.

the "Tip" should get hot instantly although i wouldn't touch it! not even with your tongue!.....lol ;LOL

It started to get warm about 30 seconds after the key was on and progressively got "hot" to the point of you couldn't touch it. So now I have no clue why my car is flat once it hits third. It is like I am trying to pull a boat or something when it shifts out of second. Suggestions Mic?

check cap/rotor/wires/timing. get a scanner and look for codes. although it might not be showing a code on the sys light doesn't mean it's not throwing one like it did mine with the MAF relay sensors.

Given the choices in body parts you COULD have come up with Mic, I'd say you were being kind....;LOL

When my relays were bad it did throw a code...I can't remember if it was the power or the burnoff relay.

Who knows, these kids and their quest for more hp :D

I know :L

Oh well I guess tomorrow I will pull the coil, cap and rotor and see if anything is burnt. I am not sure if I should go ahead and just do a full tuneup now with the season winding down or just wait. I am curious to see if my car can run any better then this...
