Hi all! Ive pulled all the black carpet out of my vette and have half of the new red installed, before I put in the pass. side though I needed to change out the heater core. Im having a heck of a time getting it out! Ive removed the plastic pc. that has the light in it, the thick foam pc mounted there is off also. I think I would be ok it I could remove the plastic dash pc. that the foam was on, but it has 4 silver smoothheaded retainers Ive never seen before, Im an industrial mech/electrician for 30 years and im stumped! If i dont get this plate off I see noway to remove or install the door arm. please help! I dont want to force anything or make any mistakes, Thanks Doug Castner , aka captbane@ yahoo.com

It has been, and can be done, some have even found some shortcuts. There is a guy, on the CF who claimed he could do it in a day, like 4-5 hrs. His name is Fastguy, and this became kind of imfamously reffered to as "the fastguy method"

I have been trying to track this info down for ya a good portion of the day to no avail. My suggestion would be to try and contact him, he is active, and see if he could share the info with ya. I bet he still has the proceedure written down somewhere, he posted a complete description 2-3 yrs back. Good luck, and let us know how you make out :beer

Thanks , Im sort of on hold here till i find out what to do. Doug

Sounds good to me ;) I pretty much just lurk there anymore, in the parts for sale area. Got sick of some of the crap, that's really the only reason I won't ask the question there myself :beer
