hi there guys,
hope all is well with you all!
saw a product on corvette centrals site on page 100 of the c4 catologue called helix power tower throttle body spacer and was wandering your opiouns please?
this 1" thick throtlle body spacer that is between the t/b and plenum!
it has a spiral flow design which they say to help atomize the fule better!
do you think this would addany horsepower or torque at all?
they claim it can give up to 20 hp and increased in torque, i doubt it very much though!
the cost of it is $120.00!
any help or imput would be great!
thanks for your time

1. Doesn't the fuel get injected directly into the cylinder? I know it does on the C5's. Swirling air in the plenum would have no effect on atomizing fuel injected directly into the combustion chamber.
2. If it was that easy, why didn't the hundreds of GM engineers figure it out?
3. Doesn't turbulance cause its own issues? I have seen ads for devices that straighten air flow and devices that cause a "vortex". Both claim fuel benefits. Well, which one is it? Doesn't seem that both could produce improvement.

As you can see, I am skeptical.

we had one of the guys in thw local corvette club dyno that on his engine, there was ZERO/NADA/ZIP change/increase, save your time and money

if your gonna put a plate on there put this plate on there :upthumbs

On a carburated engine I could see where something like that could help. But on port injection, I don't see a chance it could help anything.
