Help with Misfire on LT-4? (Update Pulled OBD Codes)

My car has new plugs and wires installed about 500 miles ago. Optisprack was installed about 2 years ago. Today my car started missing and the Service Soon light began flashing indicating a misfire condition. I could feel it missing during acceleration and cruising. A few minuets later it went away and ran normal. Then after refueling and getting back on the road there it was again Service Soon light flashing. The service soon light flashed about 10 times today and misfire then it would mysteriously go away. Any help or info would be appreciated.

Had the codes pulled this morning at Autozone.
P0151 02 sensor low voltage (Bank 2 sensor 1)
P1074 System Lean (Bank 2)
P0300 Randon multi cylender misfire
P1411 ?

Will the bad o2 sensor cause the misfire problem? Will replace and report back on Monday.

When you say indicating a misfire. Is this the code you are getting when you check it with a scanner?
Or are you just stating it's misfiring?

There is a code for misfiring, but that won't tell you much if you use a cheap scanner.

I can almost tell you for sure it's gonna be an O2 sensor problem.
I'm guessing of course. You should hook up a scanner to it. All you need is the El Cheapo model for $149, that's good enough to tell you what the codes are in plain english.
I have had the problem you are having for about 8 months. But it turned out to be multiple problems.
Bad coil, bad plug gaps (lost little hockey puck on the platinum plugs). Four of the plugs had maybe 20,000 miles on them. This in turn overheated my cats due to unburnt fuel, also taking out my O2 sensors. I have had the same issue also when I disconnected my O2 sensors and plugged them back in.
So, the first place i'd start is reading the codes. This should put you in the right track. If not then I'd make sure the plugs are gapped correctly and are the correct plugs. I'd also check to make sure the plug wires are installed tight. Okay, i'm way to tired to type some more. It's 2:40am, I'm off to bed. Let me knwo what you think about my reply. I'll check this thread tomorrow.

hmm.. can't find the def for that 1411 code. Yes, a bad sensor can cause problems like misfire and it can totally wack out your air/fuel mixture.

Hey Guys I am getting a P1411 codeCan anyone tell me what that is? I need to pass an Emition test , I am past due April1. Car runs fine just have the code. No missfire just steady check engine light:ugh

I don't find a P1411 in any of the info that I have. are you sure that is the correct error code? I did have my problems with my 94 LT1 a few years back. Ended up being the cap on my Optispark.

DTC 1411 is not enough air flow through the Secondary Air Injection system.

Check all your vacuum hoses and all your metal emission air tubes.

How many miles on your LT4?

Do you have an oiled air filter?

Any modifications to the air intake system?

Code P1411 Not right

Sorry got the wrong code The service engine light has been cleared. The code I was getting was P1441 An Evaporating code ??? I have a K&N filter oiled. I have 47,000 miles on it new filter, and muffler eliminators straight pipe . Just passed emitions test here in Ct car runs strong no problem What can this be ?? Any help:eyerole

Found this information about the code P1441

My fix to the P1441 code on my 1996 LT4 was to install a new evap canister. It’s located on the passenger side on the car, next to the fuel tank. To get to it you have to remove the inner wheel well shroud.

Once the old can was out I disconnected the tube (hard plastic) that ran from the can (rear of the car) to the valve just off the engine. Disconnected the line from the valve as well. I blew compressed air through the line and saw a black puff of dust come out. Now the line in basically clean enough (I hope).

I then installed the new can. (Also bought 4’ of 7/16 line to replace the deteriorating line in the engine compartment) Even though the can was an OEM part, the mounting tabs did not align up exact but I managed to get it good enough so the mounting strap on the car was able to hold the can in place.

I have driven the car for over 200 miles and wala, no P1441 code!

Sounds like it might be Evap canister!
