You need to hurry up at get permission Josh!!!! I love the Yellow!!!!:D

That's not the yellow coupe that's in the promotional pictures? Spill the details.

I like the sight of this Aero, but i would like the details even better! :D
Josh... feel free to at some info when you're ready. :)

Groeten Peter.

waiting on an email or maybe he'll swing by himself :D

Looks like a yellow CR-1 that I saw at a local car show 2 years ago, though I didn't think it was wearing dymags. Unfortunately, I didn't have the camera with me that day (nor my Callaway as I was touring relatives around).

If no one has supposedly seen it before.....How do I know its a '90???

Rueben, Im gonna call it a good guess :L :L

The gentleman who owns this car has a true horsepower/perfection obession!! :D He has a C2 which sports a 917rwhp 632 big block. He has a dynojet in his garage so that he can tune his cars. This car has has had the Aerobody repainted something like 5 times to get it perfect. Im not sure what the original color of the car was.

This b2k is a 90 model with 1400miles! It makes 634rwhp/795rwtq!!!!! All this thru a STOCK TPI intake!!! He flow tests every part before it is put on the car. He recently just built a custom 3" exhaust for his car which included and interior grinding of all weld joints for complete smoothness on the inside of the exhaust. Mufflers used are Dynomax Ultra Flo welded mufflers which flow 2000cfm and are extremely quiet.

He was less than satisfied with the car when he bought it so out came the motor and turbo system and it was all completely redone. He rebuilt the exhaust manifolds "b/c they flow like they have a cork in them", after trying AFR(which caused him to custom fab most mounting brackets b/c it didn't fit well) and all other head companies had his stockers ported by Pete at CNC here in FL, uses a GMPP ZZ3 cam, 7.5:1 cr, and put a different compressor wheel in the turbo.

This guy knows his stuff when it comes to these b2ks as he has completely gone thru his and is packing the biggest punch I know of out of a b2k-including 89-010.

Thats all Ive got time for now as I need to get back to work. Ive invited Steve to join the forum here..we'll see. :beer

Josh, thanks for the intro. You got the story pretty close.

I will post more details this evening as I am running out the door right now.

I look forward to exchanging information with people that are actually interested in Callaway Twin Turbos! There are not many of us out there.

Steve

Welcome to the forum!!!! Your Callaway looks GREAT. Nice to have you here with us Callaway fanatics. I hope you and your Callaway can make it to Corvettes at Carlisle this year so we can all meet, and race at the 3rd Annual Callaway Creeper Races. :m

Howdy Steve, and welcome to the only true Callaway forum.
I'm curious to know how you got 630+ rwhp out of the stock TPI intake ?
How high is this engine reved to ?
Thanks :beer

Welcome to the forum! I'm sure I've seen a write-up on your C2 with the 632 somewhere before.

I know many of us are hoping you'll share some B2K horsepower secrets with us!

Steve - Welcome to the :CAC Callaway Forum :upthumbs

We are all certainly interested in hearing more about your Callaway and you are absolutely correct, we are a rare bunch - not many of us out there :cool

Thanks for dropping in, post when you can :beer

MagicDragon, Sam(8388), 90Callaway, and Chris(*89x2*) - thanks for the welcome!

8388: The TPI intake system started out stock and, from the outside, it still appears stock. I don't take this motor much past 6000rpm.

For the record, the car currently has 1764 miles on it. I bought it new and even flew back to Old Lyme and spent a week there before they shipped it to me. My history with this car is quite a story.

The best numbers are 612.77 rwhp and 774.65 rwtq - SAE corrected. Uncorrected, the numbers are 634.78 rwhp and 802.47 rwtq.

I am hoping this is the last time I will have to have the car painted. Five times should be enough for anyone.

I have a lot of things I am going to be testing on the DynoJet with this car. I need to get my new McLeod Street Twin broken in first, though.

Steve

Looking forward to hearing the rest of the story, as Paul Harvey would say...

The numbers are amazing :eek I presume you have some massive porting done to the stock componenets or maybe extrude hone??

A friend of mine and I just installed a McLeod clutch for his stroker 96 GS, he too is waiting to see how the clamping force is w/ the new power - if it holds for you though, that would be an amazing clutch :eek

Yes, I have spent quite a bit of time porting the base, runners, and plenum. A friend of mine has a SF-600 flow bench that I make use of.

Prior to this McLeod Street Twin, I had a Centerforce Dual Friction in it. After pulling it out, I examined everything. The pressure plate and disc look good - they have maybe 500 miles on them - but just can't cope with these numbers. They held up pretty good to around 500 rwhp and then the slipping began.

I have a Racepak data acquisition system on the car that allows me to analyze quite a few different parameters.

As far as the story, that will have to wait until I have some time on my hands. It's a long and interesting one.

Steve

Steve, welcome to the Callaway forum. You've done a lot of great work and your passion for the Callaway has paid off ... that has to be one of the sweetest automobiles I've ever seen or read about. :beer
