Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

Hesitation and seeming stutter.

Hey! Thanks Tom. That's what I thought.

How have you been? :)

My car has started making a kind of rattle(?) noise when I rev the engine. I have had the left manifold gasket replaced and I think I need the right one replaced too. I wish I could record it and send it to you for your opinion.

Anyway, recently I have replaced all four tie rods, and the leaf spring bushings. Amazingly the car sits maybe two inches higher than before! The old bushings were rotted and as flat as a pancake. It was simple. I have replaced a LOT on this car but the interior is in MINT condition. Not a scratch or blemish inside. Needs a little engine work, new rubber seals all around, a new moon roof, and new leather. All that will come in time. I have been looking at other C4's for sale and I can't believe the rough shape they're in. I have even met some other drivers and their cars are in rough shape too. Guess I lucked out on my first Vette. My dream has come true!

Are you talking about removing the throttle body EXTENSION, the piece that's about 8 or 9 inches long with the rectangular cover or are you talking about removing the HUGE aluminum section that the throttle body extension attaches to?Paul

What you are calling the extension is the Throttle Body. It has a black rectangular cover. The Throttle Body is only about 4" deep and the front of it fits into the accordion rubber duct which is attached to the Mass Air Flow sensor. Which is attached to another rubber duct which is attached to the air filter assembly! Sounds like the foot bone is attached to the leg bone ............etc. :L

There are four (4) bolts that hold the TB onto the intake manifold. These bolts run horizontally from the front of the TB into the intake manifold.

On the bottom of the TB is another piece where radiator coolant flows. Unless the gasket is leaking you do not have to disassemble that part.

SAVE THE :w

Great, thanks again. Now, do I have to drain the radiator a little because I see a radiator hose going into it.

That was pretty funny LT4man, the leg bone...;LOL
