Apperantley my wife took my 1990 coupe and had the oil changed 3 months ago. Yesteday, I had to change the battery, when I went to the bottom of the car to take the kick plate off I found a new hole in the floor. It is in the left front corner of the foot well, it is about an 1.5 inches round and I can see the bottom of the carpet. It looks like when they put the hoist on the car, it was out of place and created the hole. :mad Can I use a standard Fiber Glass repair kit to seal the hole? What weight glass do I use?

Warning to all, when a garage uses a hoist with arms on it make sure they check that it is in the right position before it lifts the car.

The standard fiberglass wont stick well. I found this out the hard way.
Imagine 4 hours of your hard work cracking off the first time you hit the twisties :bash and flying down the road in a nice C4 floor shaped chunk .

Ecklers and few other places carry a special glass that does the job.
I used three layers of cut matting on mine.

USE A MASK when grinding out the hole.

I formed a mold from aluminum foil under the floor and poured it in place.

Maybe someone else will chime in on the name of the special fiberglass to use. :thumb

No disrespect to jimbob, but I have successfully used any fiberglass repair kit to repair holes in the floorboards. They have the stuff at home despot or Slowes, or your local auto parts store. It's idiot proof, just cut out the bad parts, make a mold like jimbob says, cut your glass fiber to size, mix your resin, and go to town. I usually did three layers. Five years later, it never fell out!:thumb
