Hood Support

I was thinking of upgrading my scissors type hood support but after reading some other threads I wonder if maybe I just need to replace the two exsiting struts. To open the hood on my 86 I have to reach over the door and lift up on the hood while pulling the latch and then Igo around and it takes a considerable effort to raise or lower the hood. I don't know anyone with an early style hood support I can compare with. Thanks in advance This site is the best. Charlie

If you do buy the new hood assist shocks...get them at PepBoys or one of those auto parts stores. You will pay abot 10 bucks compaired to 30 at the Corvette stores.
