Is there any way to disconnect the stock security system from the horn and still have a horn? Pulling the security fuse (behind the information panel) disables the horn, also. ;help

Try disconnecting the module for the security system. Its located in front of the ECM under the pass side hush pad. I don't know if it will work, but give it a try.

Horn works perfect without the module in place.....

Many thanks, Eagle.....Youse guys have more knowledge than any manual.:upthumbs

I'm just curious... are you stealing someone's corvette? :D

Nah.......the upkeep on two would keep me broker than I already am. Besides, I want to UPgrade to a '77 or older.

My car is having a security problem, it will not start aftre driving for any length of time, i have to disconnect the battery for min. half hour and then it will start again, ONCE... I am DESPARATE to disconnect this damn security system!

Thanks!

Sorry, drkjr........I don't think the module is in the same place on a 91 and I can't seem to find anything in a Chilton manual. Someone will be along to help, though. Hang in there. :upthumbs

I'm preparing to take the VATS module outta my 86 and It is my understanding that it is in somewhere above and behind the radio....idk, I hope that helps you

I had a similar problem where the horn would not work due to the previous owner removing the 10 amp (or whatever the correct amp is) fuse behind the information center. What I found is when I replaced the fuse, the horn worked, and the security system, which was great until I found out when it engaged, the alarm would not go off until I pulled the fuse again. Key in door or ignition did not stop the alarm, nor allow the car to start.

Pulled the fuse, then disabled the electric door locks thereby not allowing the security to engage. Now I have a problem where I have a horn, but no electronic door locks nor security. Everything I read states to replace the security module, and I bought one but cannot for the life of me determine where it goes. Anyone offer any guidance?

Thanks....Jeff
