How much oil does your C5 take

Ok I know what the owners manual says.I know what Mitchell On Demand says.When I changed my oil for the first change I put in the 6.5 qts. that it said and I was 1/2 qt. low.I had to check the oil ten times.I put in the extra 1/2 qt and it brought it up to the full mark on the dip stick.I even checked this morning before I started it and it was right on the full mark.The car was level. Any ideas?

02 Coupe - I put in 6.5 qts of Mobil 1 when I change the oil & filter.

As much confusion that the dipstick causes, you'd think GM would make it accurate. They say 6.5 so that is what I put in...no more. It will show about 1/3 qt. below full.

that makes me feel better. When I checked the oil when I bought it new the dipstick was right at the full mark.

I raise the rear wheels about 2" when I change my oil. It always takes 7 quarts to reach the full line. I put in 6.5, then check it the next day. It always needs that extra 0.5 quarts.
