OVOID Headlights !! Im laughing it looks like Autoweek took Jujubees yellow picture and made it white. The front is stubier and the headlights are oval like in that little engeneering pic we saw on another site. The front of the Auto Week photoshop is WAY to long! and the front facia is more curved/ rounded. Now will someone please fix that Autoweek Pic in Photoshop and post it here!! :D

Oh Hell what are they showing the other automakers they Have? All they need to do is look at C5, C6 is not all that ground breaking or different from C5. Hey think of it this way 80% of the people are going to HATE the ovoid headlights they may make 2004 a record year by showing there hand now. :D

yup thats the one. The headlight pods are more oval in reality. Kinda like a 53s but you know more modern. The front is close that they made up but it really is nicer looking in reality. The C6 is like the current Cadillac Seville its a new car but almost looks like the one it replaced. GM is s VERY conservitive Co. and automakers are afraid to make drastic changes to a model thats selling well. A good example was the Ford Taurus. The original was a ground breaking design that people loved. When they went to do a whole new car they decided to to throw conservitism to the wind and once again come up with a ground breaking design. BUT people LOVED the old design and the new Taurus Well was so different that people shunned it like SARS. So this is why its hard for a Co. like GM to make a decision to radically change a loved and well selling style. What you are going to see in C6 is Well an IMPROVED C5 with punched up style and design. Really in my mind thats not bad at all because the C5 is a good car. I must admit I would have liked to see more from the styling department but I bet in the focus groups there were few complaints of C5s outward style so hence it was enhanced and not changed.

NO NO !!!

Sorry BI, you're wrong on this one. IT might look like the C6, but that's a Shelby. Someone on another site took a shot of a 1/18th Shelby at the same angle and everything matched down to the shape and shading of the dash.

BI-Thanks for all the input. While that may be a Shelby, that's not to say the C6 doesn't have a lot of similarities. After all, we were only talking about the headlights.

I really feel as if I know what it will look like. If only I could put it on paper.

I would like to say that while many were disappointed with the 50th AE, the MS suspension really is a performance enhancement and a huge step into the future. The Corvette has always been cutting edge and this is another one, even though Cadillac had it first, that is typical of GM.

I think the C6 will be a superior vehicle when compared to a C5 from a technological standpoint. I just think it will miss the mark when it comes to styling. The interior will be the true test though. In my opinion, it is the C5's achille's heel. I can live with the exterior, but they really need to address their poor leather quality.

No loss in trunk space Rocket, just a little liposuction! :D I see your driving C6 there already!
Yeah BI... I can go for the trimming on the outside. Even though I never disliked the C5 back end. LOL on driving the C6 already!!!
:beer

I like it. A lot. It's a much more refined and simplified body of the C5, which I also love, but think it has a bit much flair. The back end tapers.....to me it is excellent.

I've been following the C6 rumors very closely, as I think it is very fun to speculate.

My prediction is the engineering diagram with jujubee's front end, round headlights, and the MotorTrend-jujubee back end. I think that even more so now that those spy shots are out. This is also what Black Ice has been saying all along.

I think it looks fantastic!

Brett

I think that we have a good idea of what it will look like, as well.

Ice- are the fenders closer to jujubee's pic or the drawing from autoweek. Jujubee's pic seems to have taller C3oid fenders on it.

Greg

Yes the Juju pic is much closer then Autoweeks. But the Grill opening as I remember it was a bit smaller then that large grin they are both showing. Jujus fenders are also closer indeed.

Black Ice:
Please tell me that the JuJu and AW pictures have the wrong grill, and that the drawing in Motor Trend was more accurate.
I can't believe they would offer this thing for sale with that stupid looking grinning grill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nope its not exactly like the JuJu pics because they are kinda Tiger Shark copies but the theme is close. Its the same look just a little less "smile" if you know what I mean. Take a look at the XLR it has the same type of opening in the lower bumper. When I was saying the Corvette is really now a Cadillac I was not kidding. Corvette is really now riding on a Cadillac platform not the other way around sad to say. Of course it borrow's heavy from C5 but this platform was HEAVLIY MODIFIED for Cadillac. (GM will never admit this but I will) Look at the size and shape of the opening in the XLR bumper this is the size of C6s "grill" in the style of Jujus and Autoweeks toothy opening. I know I wish I had better news. Its really going to be Ok dont worry that its ugy its not. Its just that you, I and most other Corvetters were hoping for more then just a warmed over C5 styling but the Cadillac under the skin is pretty slick. The "Chevy" is gone from this car, good bad or whatever.

I still have a gut feel that this is just a ploy....that, Phoenix like, out of the "ashes" of this apparent still born will come a vehicle we'll all be amazed by. However, if, perchance, I'm wrong and that all we'll be getting is an improved C5...I'll pass. Too many other car makers coming out with really innovative, cutting edge designs--not to mention with lots of power to spare. I'll keep my C4, and look elsewhere for that "WOW! Will ya'll look at this!!....reaction.

What you see is what it is. Its nice you will like it.

This thread is starting to sound depressing and I'm sorry to say, but I don't agree with the path it's taking.

Personally, I don't care if the Corvette shares components with the Cadillac XLR or not. I don't care if the chassis was heavily modified for a Cadillac or not. I don't care if, in theory, the chassis and suspension is that of a Cadillac or not.

As long as the damn car looks like nothing else on the road, sucks my eyeballs into the back of my skull, feels like it's on rails pulling 1.0G on a skidpad, and actually has a chance now, or in the very near future, of shoving some dirt down the throat of Dodge's Viper, I could care less if the chassis is from a caboose.

In my opinion, some of you are being unfairly harsh here and the the car is still a year to a year and half away from production.

Give it a chance before you start writing it off as an abortion. Geez.... :eyerole

Absolutely Rob!!

Just last week everyone was complaining that we had no spy shots to talk about and that we wouldn't see any until summer. Now we have spy shots and everyone just wants to flame them. We have purposely been fed some appetizers, while the main course is kept under the big silver dome. We can get lots of ideas from the appetizers - some right some wrong - but no one can see through that dome / cammo.

BI, could the lower opening be intended to suggest the C2 "grille" opening?

I am with Black Ice on this one.
I guess I will have to take Take a leap of faith on this one.(a big one Concerning GM)

By the way what ever happened to this idea that the C6 will only be around for a few years (2 I think).
I read some where that these corvettes are to be special because of it’s short production run.
any one else seen this?

Frankly Rob I don't care what your likes and dislikes are about Corvette. Everyone here has a voice and there own unique reason for liking Corvette. The Corvette is about passion no matter if that passion is directed at performance or style or its GREAT 50 year Chevrolet heritage. The car Autoweek is showing is the car you are going to get. What's being spoken here is the truth about C6 like it or not including its new Cadillac heritage. Im sure one of the reasons they split the Y platform is because some people would like a fancier version of Corvette so they decided to build them one. C6 is an attractive and improved car its just not an all new one like C5 was at first.
