I think this will keep the interior heat down

I treated the metal floor pans with POR-15 and placed Reflectix insulation purchased from Lowes on the floor boards, sealing each seam with aluminum tape. I just need to pull up the center console, dealing with all those connections, place the Reflectix there and I will be ready to put the new carpet down and place the rebuilt seats in.

I am optimistic that next Summer the very cold a/c air coming out of the vents will be able to covercome the heat coming off the floor boards.

Looks great Bob. You said you got that heat material at Lowes?
BTW where did you get your carpet if I may ask.

Dave,

Refletix from Lowes. Fairly thin. Reasonable as well. Don't get thrown by the aluminum tape. You won't find it near the insulation. It is over with the duct tape and glues.

Got the carpet at www.tld-corvette.com. Price was reasonable and I understand a couple of places makes everybody's carpet.
