- 2003 50th Annversary Red coupe, beautiful !
You know people are sometime funny, it takes time to wake up. I bought this 2003 1SC 50th Anniversary coupe new, and I started to do things to it. All sorts of things upgraded headlights to sequential rear turn signals in back. I'd get out a wash and wax it and all the time thinking of what's next on the car to do, New Michelin Pilot sports tires to a new 'Corsa' Pace car exhaust. Inside I had the kit sold by corvette central that beefs up the seats and cushions and protects the air bladders from being cut on the frames sharp edges, spent close to a thousand dollars to have my door handle surrounds inside and the rear console done in medium Burl wood finish, a new console 50th Anniversary lid cover new painted and installed 'Apsis splash guards. Change to oil like a religion, same goes for front end alignments, you name it, I've done it. and my health has not been too great, but I somehow realized today something that I think some of us do. I've made a "Shrine" out of it. I've had it 10 years now and I've only put 16472 miles on it. But it hit me today "What the hell are you doing ?" . . . "What are you saving it for ?" All this to let it sit and collect dust. Well no more ! Today it went out and every day I can run it (Barring snow and salt) but that's where I draw the line. Boy, The website isn't working too good today (I can't turn off the bold type) But from here on it's getting run and going on a trip in the fall back to the Corvette museum by way of the Blue ridge mountains trail roads. No more sitting as a shrine.
