Insurance Recommendations

Hello,

If anyone has any recommendations for insurance
companies, I would be real interested. I'm 52 with
clean record. I'd like to use my 95 for weekend cruising,
not a daily driver, but might put around 5000 miles
a year on the odometer. (just a guess) Don't want to be
confined to back and forth between car shows.

My 92, full coverage for $305.00/yr.

You are eligible for membership in AARP (age 50 and over) - $8 per year or cheaper for multiple years.
You can get auto insurance through them with Hartford. My last premium (12 months) was $236 for a rural area in N. Central Illinois.

I pay less than $500 a year on my 92 vert and that is full coverage with no mileage limitations. It's just insured as a "regular" car so I can drive it whenever I want to. I have USAA and their rates are very good but you need to be a military officer, retired officer or dependent of an officer. Some enlisted grades are also eligible.

Rates depend on a variety of things like your driving record, age, marital status, where you live (usually by ZIP code), miles driven. You get some reductions if you have alarm systems, if the car is garaged, or such. Some companies will even use your credit rating to determine your rates or even whether or not they will issue a policy (which is a big load of cr.. to me!). You should call around to get various quotes to make a decision. If you have other cars, get quotes for all of them on a single policy. I have all 3 of my vehicles and my house with one company and I get discounts for having all my insurance with one company.
