Would changing the intake manifold have the effect of LOWERING
the rpm at which the engine attains peak hp? Please give me
any opinions ya got!

Next year, if change cyl. heads, I'll want a mod that brings the peak hp rpm down. From what I hear on this board, headers will actually increase the peak hp rpm, and I know that a cam would.

My concern is to avoid over-reving the engine so as to not blow up the bottom end of the engine.

Thanks!!!!

Hi sothpaw,

I thought that the majority of mods would increase power on the higher RPM range because that's where the car would be operating most of the time. Reading the claims that I've seen, they usually advertise for example: "Up to 10 hp gain at 6,000 rpm's."
