My Nassau blue 66 corvette has bright blue interior with dark blue dash pad, console, heater vents and convertible top covers, the only bright blue is the seats, sun visors and door panels.
My question is this correct or a factory error ??

Well, I'm going to take a stab at the most obvious here, but what does the trim code on the console plate say? Everything you mentioned should be relatively close with a match in color to each other as far as I know. If your questionng the color variances then I'm assuming that you're stating the interior is original. If not, then there's a good chance a previous owner mixed and matched the interior trim.

Where is the console trim code ? I purchased the car when it was 2yrs old from a friend of mine . The interior is original, I never thought anything about the interior being both lite and dark blue until I had the trim parts repainted last fall using the trim paint codes from the car, they came back lite blue instead of dark blue as original to the car. How can I find out if it is supposed to all lite blue , or a factory error? Should I change the trim parts back to dark blue as original ?

the trim tag is under the glove box right next to the VIN tag on the birdcage crossbar.
for your '66 blue interior, if the tag, in the line stamped "TRIM" is the number 414 you have a light blue interior. If the number is 418 you have a dark blue interior.

Thanks Barry,
A previous post mentioned code on console plate, the code on the birdcage is 414, so it must be a factory screw up. I wonder what a ncrs judge would say, other than the owner is old and can't remember.

problem with NCRS is that to prove a factory screw-up the burden of proof is on YOU to prove it came that way from the factory and unless you have good detailed color pics from when the car was brand new and delivered to the original customer I'm not sure how you would do that.
