Invite For Bloomington Special Collection

Thanx for the info. I'm going to check prices for renting the trailer from U-Haul, but I'm also going to call a few car transporters. Right now I plan on going out to Chicago maybe a week or so before the Show and then staying a few days afterwards as I'm originally from the Chicago area and its been almost 6 years since I've been back. I'll stay at my sisters house, but for the days of the Show I'll stay at the resort.

Yuengling is NOT available in the Chicago area. Let me know who wants and how many cases you would like me to bring along.

Mark, if you do rent a U-Haul (or use any other open carrier) buy a roll or two of the sticky wrap that movers use. Wrap the front end of your car tight, to protect it from flying debris off your hauler :cool

Hope this helps :m

Well, if Chicago doesn't have it now-- after we're done-- they'll know all about it! The invites don't say anything about not bringing any "beverages" to the premises... so.. :D

Disclaimer- Please bring valid I.D. for age verification. Special Collection Cars won't be driven for the whole week so let someone else do the driving and you do the drinking. Many cases of Yeungling will be on-hand for full distribution and "taste" testing. Yuengling is NOT affiliated with COG or Bloomington other than having a common recycling plan for glass and plastic. Please drink responsibly, heavily, and if you can recycle, please do.

I will be there for sure and with my cousin living just 10 minutes from Pheasant Run lodging will be real cheap!!! I can't wait to see all of these amazing cars and meeting all you guys!!:_rock

Congrats to all you guys:beer

I know you guys have some very impressive Callaway examples, and will promote our cars well.

I think we should try to all stay at the same place. Whether it be the Pheasant Run Resort or one of the others. What does everyone else think?

Kevin, That has always seemed to worked well in the past @ Carlisle :beer

Here is a bit more about Hotels:

re: the hotel rooms, The Pheasant Run and Holiday Inn Express rates that Paul (Kruzmisl) posted are correct - you can register yourself or shoot me an e mail, with where you would like to stay, the Nights you will be staying, room prefeance (King or 2 beds), Smoking or not, or any other needs and I will pass them along - with that, a confirmation number can be assigned and you then call w/ your credit card to hold the room on your own.

There are rooms "blocked" for the Special Collection Owners at these "host hotels".

I agree. I was planning on calling and making reservations at Pheasant Run since its on the grounds. Figured it would just make things easier. Don't want to stay further away just to save a few bucks and then have to fight the crowd to get in. Never been to Bloomington before but I would expect the traffic situation to be similar to Carlisle.

I will probably do the same thing. I was thinking about the heated tow vehicle competition we could have if we stayed elsewhere but the thought of not having to do any additional driving with a 2000 mile round trip out and back would be nice. It could be a very relaxing four days... almost like a vacation! :D

I am planning to stay at the Pheasant Run. Hope you all do the same.

Lets all stay in the same hotel

I will stay at the Pheasant Run also if everyone else is . It should make for a good time.

I have stayed there for the last few years because of the onsite feature. It's nice not having to drive to the show, just walking over. And you can stroll back to your room if need be. You will probably want to take your tow vehicle out for dinner etc. though. I'm really looking forward to it!

Well actually it more like stumble back in case we consume too much Yuengling (or however its spelled) :beer

All set...

I called Pheasant Run and booked a room this morning. :upthumbs

I was on hold for 15 minutes because they were experiencing "high call volumes"...

Just booked mine, no waiting. They must of been "changing shifts" when you called

Mind if my 69 coupe hangs out with the Callaway group at Bloomington? Bill Locke invited mine to be inducted in the Hall of Fame this year. He said it would look good mixed in with all those Callaways. There are four 'non Callaways' that will be inducted this year.

I'm looking forward to meeting you guys and seeing your beautiful cars.

Mark, Welcome to the :CAC

Looking forward to seeing your L88 & the induction ceremony to the Hall of Fame - What Special Collection was your car previously a part of?

You are 100% correct, in addition to the 2 Callaway's, & your car, 3 mid years will be inducted :upthumbs

Mine was in the 2001 Special Collection in Bloomington. I'm looking forward to experiencing Pheasant Run. Bill puts on a very nice event. I have a busy summer coming up with this car as I'm hoping for a PV in Charlotte, then Bloomington and then a Duntov in Windsor. We'll see how it all turns out.

Looking forward to meeting you in Bloomington.

Take care,

Mark
