Ever since I installed my stainless steel full roller rocker arms on my 454" I have had an annoying "ticking" noise coming from several of them. When I had my valve cover off a couple of days ago I found out WHY they make the noise. When the push rod lifts up the oblong inside of the rocker arm moves slightly sideways and "clicks" against the side of the round adjustment nut. It's just the nature of them and there's really no easy fix.
