Thanks for all the help. Went to the shop today. U, joints are good, tranny good, overall good, wheel bearings bad. Shew! Easy fix

If those thrust washers aren't installed get a set and have them installed. Also make sure they apply some anti-seize to the axle shaft splines.

U joints replacement

After removing a shaft is it important to make sure they go in the same way? eg is there an out board end, and a inboard end, does it mater if they get turned arround by mistake??
