"Hinckley", and if the shop looked like the Taj Mahal, almost bigger than the house, had terrazzo on the floor, Ferraris and '69 Z-28s hanging off the hoist, and a '67 'vert, and a cool office, and a gas pump, etc................that was John's. ;LOL

Yup, I cannot tell a lie - that's my garage; we knew when we designed the house that it was the last one and we'd only be leaving it in zipper bags, so I gathered all my notes from the previous nine homes we had and decided to do the garage MY way. I made a deal with Linda - told her she could design the house, anything she wanted, and I'd design the garage, anything I wanted; she thought that was a great plan, and only had one rule - the garage couldn't be larger than the house. We just made it :D .

Sounds to me like a GREAT plan.......and looks like you get an A+ for executing the plan as well!!!

JohnZ,
My last daughter is a junior in high school,at that point the house is getting downsized BUT the garage is definately getting upsized. And I've allready got a 3 car.
Well done on your end,I'm going to save this issue w/ your photos, and try to be as happy w/ mine as you are w/yours.
I think I'm going w/ the Cytech Double park if I can get the guy to call me back w/ a quote. Again thanks for all your help..Jim

Herb,
I dont think it will take much to get your garage in the next issue..

John,

I would give my .......for that garage. VERY VERY NICE !!

Our last house I built detatched 2.5 car garage; got to enjoy it for about a year and my wife decided we had to move. Now I have a 1 car garage.

We're in NM right now looking at houses; told her it's my turn: The next house will have a minimum 3 car garage.

NO!!!! no, no, no, no, no!!
What are you doing thinking of moving to NM??
If you move, who in the h*ll am I going to get to help me work on my cars?
I can't call on Trip all the time or he will stop wanting to help me.

Nope, sorry Bernie, you just can't go and move to NM. You are needed here.
Besides.......... if you move out there think about how much further away you will be to the house in PR and the plane tickets out there will be more expensive so you might as well just stay around here!
:)

Just read the article last night. Nice job on the article and a fantastic garage. John did a superb job in the design. A perfect setting for retirement "play". While we've seen it before in Forum posts it was super to see a nice article giving it the exposure it deserves. :upthumbs

Hello
Which month's issue is the article in? If it is just out, it may take a week or two to come up to the Great White North
I look forward to reading it
Tom

If I'm not mistaken Rich, you have a pretty awesome garage yourself. I think I've also seen it featured in some magazines.

nothing like a 3 car garage that can be expanded OUT THE FRONT to another 3 car, totaling 6 car. Our last house had a 4.5 car attached that we blew out the front to another 4 car garage. Go through one set of garage doors into the next garage. Easier to heat and keep cool. Planning ahead is a good idea.....

You go Herb,You'll make the next issue.Hey if I did that I would'nt need that lift anymore, plenty of floor space.
