Congradulations and welcome to the Mad Mad Mad Mad world of Corvettes...You must be real proud of yourself knowing you bought it yourself...but no one will believe you on the street. :cool
Your probably right there but aslong as the girls believe me I'll be alright;) .

Welcome and enjoy your new vette, but forget the girls and save for all the "mods" you will want and that can of wax you will be using. Enjoy it's a great family when you own a vette.:upthumbs

My dad is the one that got me hooked onto corvettes. He has a 1989 Red Convertable 6 speed vette. I was going to get a late model c4 but one of my neighbors bought a red c5 and after I saw it I knew that was the car I wanted.

Congrats on the car purchase and good luck with it

These cars are real fast and you can get in alot of trouble with it real easey.

I have seen alot of wrecked vettes, after speaking to the owner of the wrecked vette the majority of the wrecks were cars just purchased and the new owner not falmilur with driving a fast car,(they claimed other wise )and the other wrecks were from the owners turning the traction control off to burn some rubber

I have a 66 also and no matter what happens I can keep that car in control. With my C5 and the traction control off, once the tires start spinning it gets out of shape real fast and its hard to recover from. I am not an inexspearenced driver I just cant keep this car straight with the traction controll off.

Good luck with your car,

Good luck, drive safely and be proud of what you have. My first was also at 19, a 57 for which I paid $1500 and it was running. Yes, it was a long time ago.

Wow, that's great to buy your own corvette at 19. Smart thinking, buying one from someone who was meticulous about the records.

Welcome to the CAC, and congrats on your first vette! I'm sure there will be more in your future.

Tammy

Congrats on your new ride and welcome to the :CAC!

:w
Guy - Save the wave.

What are some of these insurance tricks? I am 20 and about to get a C5 and insurance will cost me $3000 a year.

Ron...did you forget what its like to be 19? ;LOL Nevermind being 19 with a hot car. That is walking (riding)testosterone. ;)
I'll back that up. I was 20 when I fist bought my current car and now at 21 its still a trip to role down some strip, park, and have everyone watch you get out of your car. You should see the smile when a girl drives by and is pleasently surprised to find someone her age in the drivers seat (no offense to all you other guys).

One is defensive drivers school, another is high deductible's, a third is getting good grades in school, a fourth is having a good credit report, and the last is no accidents and speeding tickets. At 21, insurance for myself would cost me 1450 for the year on my own policy.

I am insured under Tripple A

I am actually used to fast cars. My previous car was an eagle talon tsi with AWD and it was heavily modified and was very fast for a little 4 banger pulled low 13s in the 1/4 mile. But, I haven't even give my vette over half throttle yet because its in such good condition I really dont want to ruin it.

:cool
enjoy!!!
