I have found that an old tacchometer face with a steering wheel behind it makes for a nice clock. You can go to Wal-Mart and buy a clock mechanism and then use your needles from other old gauges.
LIBoater said:Sorry, I think that steering wheel belongs in a Ricer.I know your "killer" car is a great mod car, but between the rubberbands on those 18 inch wheels and this Momoish steering wheel, it seems to loose the "soul" all old 'vettes have. Not period specific enough for me. Just my $.02.
LIBoater said:I dumped the skinny stock wheel in my 72 LT-1 in favor of an after market wheel out of 'Vette Central. Visually similar to the stock wheel with two inches less diameter. I also have T-T wheel which helps me get my 6'3" 245# bulk in and out in a somewhat coordinated move.

I know there was a thread about my car some time back that had a in-depth thread going, among many others before and after it!
LIBoater said:Dave: I am using a PPG paint system ending with a clear coat. The vette's original colour was Steel Cities Gray. Some schmuck painted it yellow. I am bringing it back to A Gun Metal Gray, close to the original but without the slight bluish tint. Are you doin' it yourself?

Hey! This new guy's a comedian!cruisin-davey-g said:Thanx, Bruce: Sorry I asked this question & sorta gotta out of line in this thread; you answered what I wanted to know & kept it simple. I won't ask anything else, as this has seemed to upset others on this thread. Take care & hope your's comes out lookin' good! Thanx again! Dave

Don't take things so seriously, Davey G. It was just a suggestion to a "newbie". It was for everyone's benefit to remember about the search functionality here at CAC, not just to keep the thread pure to the original topic.
The CAC has a plethora of information about everything vettes. And likely, at one time or another, almost anything you might want to know about your car has probably been touched on by someone else with your same or similiar problem/situation.
So relax, enjoy yourself! The CAC tries not to promote any other attitude than one of companionship and comraderie with a common interest in cars, specifically CORVETTES!

No reason to appologize to me. I don't understand why anyone has a problem with a simple question even if it is contrary to the thread. I guess some souls have nothing much else to do. Maybe they should loosen it just a bit.
Good luck on your '72 and I hope is comes out looking good.
